Support for Military Personnel, Veterans, and Their Families

2452190199No one understands.

How could they, without being the one deployed or the one at home praying for their loved one’s safe return?

Even if you love the service and the work, back-to-back assignments grate on you, making you wonder if the stress of it all is worth it.

And “getting out” doesn’t make it all go away. As we know, it’s not as easy as adjusting to “normal” family, work, or social life; finding a military or civilian community is still its own challenge.

Let’s face it; combat and military life can be traumatic for all involved.

And that trauma shows up… everywhere.

It takes a particularly heavy toll on your mental health. PTSD is real, and it’s devastating.

Anger…

Anxiety and depression…

Jumpiness…

Emotional outbursts…

Nightmares that wake you up at night…

If you find yourself deflated, hopeless, or drinking more… there’s a good reason why, and you’re not the only one.

Most have no idea how your life can be upended.

Deployment changes us… and the families we leave behind. When we return home, everyone has to reintegrate into the “new normal.”

Unfortunately, that doesn’t always happen. The stress, uncertainty, and chaos can cause rifts deep enough to rupture even the tightest bonds.

To make matters worse, it’s hard to trust the military’s mental health system, as sharing your emotions, fears, or concerns might cost you your job.

I’ve been there. I understand.

I’ve served for the past 14 years, so I get it. Sometimes, the service is great… but it can also cause real problems.

I know what it’s like working in a toxic environment with constant microaggressions.

I know what it’s like to be at your limit but not be able to take advantage of the mental health services intended to support us.

And I know what it’s like to be the one at home, fearful of getting that call.

I know why things are so bad, and I know how to help.

Professional and confidential…

Punctuality is respected with on-time, weekly, online video meetings on a secure, HIPAA-compliant device with a dedicated network. Just make sure you’re in a confidential space, and you can rest assured that your information will remain completely private and protected.

You don’t have to worry about anyone sharing notes with Tricare, breaching confidentiality with a party connected to you, or leaking PII.

There’s no one here with any connection that could harm your career.

Someone who speaks your language…

You can use typical military language because I speak it, too. We won’t have to interrupt the flow of our conversation to define a term or spell out an acronym.

That will give you relief from the very first session, which we’ll spend discussing your history and giving you an idea of what to expect in future meetings.

You’ll find that I ask all the right questions, and you don’t have to worry about something getting “lost in translation.”

A structured plan…

In your second session, we’ll develop a plan tailored to meet your goals and get you back to high-speed functioning. I’ll provide you with expertise and education along the way.

In addition to this plan, we’ll go ahead and give you some coping skills to make day-to-day life just a little bit easier.

You’ll leave this session with hope as you look forward to getting to work!

Focusing on you…

With each subsequent session, we’ll review your struggles over the week, identify the strategies that worked or didn’t and add new items to our agenda.

During the session, we’ll use evidence-based neuroscientific approaches to relieve suffering and get you back on track. The brain is the command center of everything, so we want to start there. I’ll explain everything we’re doing and why. That’s important for your healing.

Whether you’re experiencing trauma, anxiety, stress, irritability, or depression…

Or having trouble with family, friends, or relationships…
